Amit Friedman – Long Way To Go

Amit Friedman – Long Way To Go

Building on the success of his previous release, “Long Way To Go” is Amit Friedman’s second release as a leader and continues in the musical vein of it’s predecessor. For this album Amit’s sextet is joined by three guest vocalists, Claudia Acuna, Ravid Kahalani and Tamar Eisenman who featured on Amit’s earlier album. The album features thirteen original compositions rooted in the jazz tradition and incorporates elements of world music combined with Middle Eastern influences.

Saxophonist and composer Amit Friedman is among the leading musicians in the Israeli jazz scene.

All About Jazz  says that “Friedman has a knack for memorable melodies enmeshed in sophisticated and lively arrangements”

Peter McLaren, in a review of “Long Way To Go” on Jazz In Europe stated: “It’s not often I receive an album for review that has spent as much time in my CD player as “Long Way To Go”. With this album, Amit Friedman has delivered a release that shows an artist and composer at the top of his game – Highly recommended.”
