The Greg Diamond Band is a collective of emerging NYC artists who interpret Latin-infused contemporary jazz. Diamond puts forth a diverse array of original music that’s fresh, innovative, and widely appealing.
Greg and his band have performed at venues such as: The Blue Note Jazz Club, Iridium Jazz Club, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Smalls Jazz Club, Zinc Bar, and Nublu among many others . Greg and his band have also performed as international guests in the Barranquijazz Festival, Teatro Libre Jazz Festival, and Jazz al Parque Festival in Colombia. Other presentations include the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, Spain, and the First Annual Nublu Jazz Festival in New York City. In 2007, he was a semifinalist at the Gibson International Jazz Guitar Competition hosted by the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Diamond has shared the stage with such notables as: Seamus Blake, Henry Cole, Emilio Solla, Antonio Hart, John Benitez, Gretchen Parlato, Michael Philip Mossman, Don Friedman, Asha Puthli, and many others.
Greg’s latest release “Conduit” (Dot Time Records), featuring renowned tenor saxophonist Seamus Blake, will be released in May 2012. Greg’s compositions and arrangements embrace South American and North American traditions with a distinct contemporary sound.
